Col Phillip Stemple removed from command in Iraq--> unprecedented

On April 29, 2011 the NG removed Col Stemple from command of a Nebraska Brigade in Iraq. In my experience this is an incredible action unheard of any the history of National Guard units from Nebraska. For such action to be taken there must have been significant problems that, by now, ought to have been explained.

Yet the Omaha World Herald has not addressed this in any follow-up that I have seen. Other "news" sources are also strangely silent.

The World Herald sent a two reporter team to Afghanistan to be embeded with NG troops there. It's too bad their reporting was mostly favorable to the cause. You'd think they might send someone somewhere to find out the facts.
